Orthopedic Bracing & Joint Support

Fitted knee, back, and joint braces that stabilize an injury, protect healing tissue, and support you through recovery.

What Orthopedic Bracing Involves

A brace can take pressure off a healing joint, limit motion that would slow recovery, or add stability to a knee, ankle, back, or shoulder that isn't yet ready to bear full load. During a bracing visit, your therapist measures and fits the brace to you directly, adjusts the straps and support level for your injury, and shows you how to put it on and take it off correctly. As your recovery progresses, we re-check the fit and adjust or wean you off the brace as your strength and stability return.

Common Reasons Patients Use Bracing

Bracing is typically part of a larger plan of care rather than a stand-alone treatment. Your therapist will tell you plainly whether it makes sense for your specific injury.

  • Knee instability following an ACL, MCL, or meniscus injury
  • Ankle sprains that need support while ligaments heal
  • Post-surgical bracing following an orthopedic procedure
  • Low-back support during flare-ups of chronic pain
  • Shoulder immobilization after a rotator cuff or dislocation injury
